Question So what's with the Jazz Corner mailing list?

Just an honest question here, no cynicism or attitude intended. I see on the home page there's a sign-up for a Jazz Corner mailing list. Is this for people not currently registered, or do I, for example, need to opt in to receive email notifications? And what would be the nature of the emails? Info or sales pitches? Would my email address be given to advertisers or stay forever in JC's vaults?

Has anyone signed up yet?

I don't remember specifically being asked to join a jazzcorner list, but received a message from Lois about a Steve Kuhn thing. That's cool. I clicked, I skimmed, I didn't delete yet figuring I *might* get back and look at it specifically sometime. Anyway, I didn't ask for it, nor did I treat it like spam. I like to know what's up. I also view it as good karma for my own email "so here's what's going on with the ol' cooker right now" list. I appreciate folks who let me slide through their inbox whether they read in detail or not. It's a way to keep in touch.

So anyway, though I didn't ask, I didn't mind and who knows? Maybe I *was* asked and just clicked some box saying "yeah, send me some email!!" More likely, I forgot to UNcheck a box that might assume I wanted it. Who knows?

I'm not complaining or indicting either. Just sayin'...

I got the same and have had other emails about concerts in New York - which is a waste of time for me - living in England!!

If it is only going to be US-centric - then I would like to get off it...?
