Best Mags for Pop & Rock
Both Wire and Signal to Noise cover the indie stuff fairly well.
I'd also recommend:
Magnet
The Big Take-Over
Pop Culture Press
Resonance
Grooves

Online,
Pitchfork
.
Anyone know personally of any good online forums? Mailing lists, web boards, etc? (I know of no worthwhile newsgroups).

What I've seen of
www.stylusmagazine.com
is pretty good, though I concentrate on Joe Panzner's reviews there.

In print, The Wire, only for a certain scene though.
Already mentioned, but such a good read.
Online,
Pitchfork
, as Vince indicated, is a must.
Just to confirm (in case it is needed, which I doubt).
