I always get a kick from Battario Duracelli. Sorry he doesn't post much anymore. Hey, Monte, have you seen Battario lately?...................

I love me some Tippy! Why? Because she's funny, smart, slyly witty and just plain ol' great! There are sooo many posters I love. I have my faves who I read no matter what they post (almost) Here are a few: Larrry Nagle (love that cat--I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet him in Detroit!), Jimmy, Pete, Valerie, Tom Storer, Frank Kimbrough, Schumann, Cookie, let's see, who else? I'll think of some more.

Damn! I meant who are YOUR favorite posters?

I like Ron Thorne. Tom Storer. Gordon B. Cookie. There are so many for so many different reasons. When I'm not at work I'll say more.

And of course, Scott Dolan for making things interesting.

I miss Songscout a lot! What happened to him??? I guess I don't really miss Dan all that much because I see and talk to him fairly often.

I dare not produce a list for fear of inadvertently omitting some and therefore hurting their feelings, but I think the people I like know who they are.

Suffice to say, there are some very nice people here.

Thanks, mary! Like you said on another thread, once you left the hometown, things turned to sh** over here. Next time you come to Detroit, we'll go toilet paper Al's house or something.

Selling out his old East side buddy for the sake of a joke,

Oh my.

10 posts, and I'm already mentioned twice. Man, I must be slipping..........

Actually I will go all mushy and say that I really like almost everyone here. There are only two posters here that I could truly live without, and they know who they are.

I guess my favorites would have to be Darryl G. and Root Doctor for their constantly thoughtful and seemingly non-partisan look at all the issues. Monte, just because he knows his shit and has written some of the funniest one-liners I've ever seen. Patricia, mostly because she was one who I was incredibly nasty to back in my dark days, but has been kind enough to let bygones be bygones.

Honorable mention to RBS, not because he mentioned me, but because he is one of the few here who is completely unafraid to look at the other side of the issue and actually change his mind based upon the facts you present to him. Takes a really "fair and balanced" mind to do that.

But yeah, I dig pretty much everyone here, and I'm with GG, the list would end up being very long.

Except Evil Ollie. I HATE that son of a bitch.

Favorite posters include, but are not limited to (and in no particular order):

Tom Storer
stonkemonkts
Scott Dolan
Gordon B
Jon Abbey
Walto
Pedantic Wretch
Gentle Giant
Ron Thorne
Dennis Gonzalez
Ellery Eskelin
Brian Olewnick
Larry Nagel
Tippy
Jazzy Mary
Jazzzoline
Bill Barton
Sergio Zamora

In truth, I like just about everyone here, for different reasons.

I cannot pick a *most* favorite, but I can safely say that I myself am my *least* favorite poster here.

If not elsewhere.

But its a close race.

Ya know?

I'm morally opposed to popularity contests. The people I like know who I don't like.

And lately I've also been missing the great people-skills and open-mindedness that Salim2 consistently brought to this forum.

Ok, second question...

Regardless of other attributes, what JCers do you have the most musical affinity to? That doesn't necessarily mean your tastes overlap the most, but that you dig their musical tastes the most (even if you don't dig the same things).

There are people who connect with me strongly on stuff like King Crimson Gentle Giant, and others who connect with me strongly on stuff like Brian Wilson (and there was one person years ago who challenged me to a Monkees trivia contest to see who was the most knowledgeable Monkees fan). The twain doesn't always meet, but the good thing about this place is you can talk with somebody about anybody.

I do feel a particular Alan Dawson connection with Ron Thorne, who was taught by the master.

Walto, 'cause he's way smart, man.
Kevin B, because he knows his wine, but mainly because he got me to come out and see the Mingus Big Band.
Chris D, because he's the King of Pop.
Darryl, because he is wise.
Nagel, Pete C, and Cantiello because they've got sharp wits.
Tippy! Tippy! Tippy!
Sisco, because he is forthright.
Monte, because he is droll.
Dolan, because you gotta have some yang with your yin.
Tom Storer because he is my better, more articulate self.
Crawjo, because he is on a voyage of discovery.
Jazzy Mary, 'cause she has a big heart.
Jazzonline, 'cause she's flirty.

I'll be back with more, so don't worry, those who know who you are.
