Who's going to the Dylan-Willie baseball park tour?

Just got tickets for Mr. Zimmerman and Willie Nelson at our local minor league park at the end of August.

They're doing a tour of small baseball stadiums. Kids under 12 are free. What a concept!

Anyone else going? Crawjo, I see the tour kicks off in Cooperstown, and I know you're a big Bob-head. Will you be seeing it?

Is the itinerary for this tour somewhere handy on the Web?

I just saw Dylan on his own a month or two ago in Boston. It was a tremendous show, although he spent the entire set on the far left side of the stage, playing a keyboard, even though there was an acoustic guitar on a stand behind him and a mike at center stage. But the tunes were well-chosen and the performances were hot. He had a good energy about him that night.

You can also get set lists on bobdylan.com, so if you want to be suprised don't go looking. From night to night, about 3/4 of the show is intact and he swaps a range of other tunes in and out.

I'll be bringing the kids to their first ever Bob show on 8/8 in lovely Brockton, Massachusetts.

Anyone else?

I might - might - have if I hadn't already seen him recently. As you imply with your sarcastic adjective, Brockton isn't my first choice for a city in which to spend a night out. But I hope you and your kids enjoy the show...and make it back home safely.

GREAT concept! I wish they were coming this far west. We've got a fine stadium and team in Rohnert Park.

From Forbes Magazines "50 Of America's Best" List:

BEST AFTERNOON OF BASEBALL: THE SONOMA COUNTY CRUSHERS The afternoon breeze pulls the smoke from mesquite-grilling tip steaks across the grandstand like a beckoning cartoon finger. There's a benevolent sun in a powder-blue Northern California summer sky. You are sitting so close to home plate that the crack of an arcing bat catching hold of a fastball jars your fillings. A Crushers' baseball game will engage all your senses, including the sense of humor. There are goofy promotions between innings (little kids racing down the baseline in giant inner tubes to plug a local doughnut shop, for instance), presided over by the Abominable Sonoman, a hideous comic mascot with huge, purple grape-crusher's feet. This is Wine Country's home team, after all, with the best carte de vin in baseball to prove it. Crushers tickets: Rohnert Park, CA; (707)-588-8300

But are they going to see Willie and Zimmy?

Early one morning the sun was shining, I was laying in bed
Wondering if she'd changed at all, if her hair was still red....
