Rova/Gianni Gebbia in Oakland

Tonight at the Black Box the group People In Motion (Gianni Gebbia, Damon Smith on bass, Garth Powell on drums)

Gino and I sat chatting and Rova began with Raskin's "Jukebox Detroit" followed by Gino's "Proclamation" (from his opera based on life of Emperor Norton "I, Norton"); another Raskin piece "Jukebox Choro," Larry Ochs' "S," and Steve Adams' "Survival" were played. Great show, quite rollicking.

Cool Gianni Gebbia and Matthew Goodheart

Oh, Gianni Gebbia. So you must know pianist Matthew Goodheart. I heard that they will do something together in Europe this year, or has it been through already?

Anyway. I got one CD by Gianni, interesting. I like Matthew Goodheart. Anyone seen him perform before?
