There's a thread floating around somewhere on this topic.
[Personally I can hardly think of a worse musical concept than holiday albums. Yech]

There are several threads on this already.
Jingle Bell Jazz is cool. This album is a beaut!
And don't forget to check out the singles of "White Christmas" by Clyde McPhatter and The Drifters (minus Clyde, actually, who was on active duty) and "Merry Christmas Baby" by Charles Brown.

This one is excellent, so get it while it's available:
This one, of course, is a classic:
It's also available on SACD. Sound is pretty good, but I've definitely heard better from Fantasy.

I despise Christmas music
I loath "jazzy" Christmas music
and no, I don't hate Christmas

At Christmas time, I always pull out Duke Ellington's version of "The Nutcracker Suite."
And, they're not on holiday albums, but I enjoy Paul Bley's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and John Coltrane's "Greensleeves" (i.e. "What Child is This?").

A Swingin' Shavuot
Ramadan Rhythms
Latin Lent Party
And, of course, there's only one essential album for Ascension Thursday.
To properly honor Labor Day, I'd suggest both "Workin'" and "Relaxin'."
On Columbus Day, one must listen to the Fats Waller version of "Christopher Colombus" ("All the crew were making merry--and Merry got mad!")
On the 4th of July one should only listen to albums on indie labels.

Labor Day should feature "Chain Gang," "Ole Man River" and "Sixteen Tons."

For springtime holidays, try "Easter the Sun (And West of the Moon)" and something by Flora Purim.

I really like David Benoit's Christmas CD. I found out that the Yellowjackets have a Christmas CD, so that will be my Christmas jazz purchase this year (I buy only one or two a year). Peace.
