Merely the 8 of Spades.

Who are the Jokers? There must be at least 4 of them -- three to make the deck of 55 and one to make up for the missing Ace.

Just out of morbid curiosity, where can I see who all the cards are?

News reports say he negotiated his surrender. I'm interested in where he's been hiding all this time. Baghdad? Syria? Monte's house?

Tey're also saying that while he was the 2nd most public face for the Iraq ex-regime he really didn't have that much power. He's Christian, a commited socialist and when you think about it Iraq was about Saddam, not politics.

He also said in a televised interview three weeks ago that he would gladly die instead of going to an American prison.

I'd love to see the Iraqui Information Minister (Joker) resurface, bostontricky ... perhaps on Late Night with David Letterman. Pair him with two of my past favorites, restaurant owners Mujibur and Sirajul, and Dave could capitalize on totally unique vignettes for quite a while.

There's a rumor (Washington Post) that the information minister hung himself. I hope not, I liked that guy.

Man, so did I. You know what was so great about that dude? Everyday was a sunshine day to him. Damn, I wish I could be that upbeat.

Dude, you do enough bong hits, every day's a party. I bet the Information Minister is/was a major stoner. I can totally see him throwing a little Thai stick into the hookah and sending out for Doritos.

"Don't be ridiculous. Tariq Aziz is not in US custody. Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this kid who's going with a girl who saw Tariq Aziz pass out at 31 flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious."

I don't know Tanager, I've smoked some pretty righteous shit in my day, but I don't ever remember being as happy and optimistic as that fellow. Although i did laugh an awful lot. But, I am much more upbeat seeing that Monte has tied into the liberal pipeline. If only I could get that kind of info i wouldn't be wallowing in the dark side.

Yeah, you're right - the Minister wasn't nearly paranoid enough to be a stoner. I bet he was on X.

I hear they held some killer raves after Saddam met with his generals.

I wonder what the plan is for all these Iraqi regime dudes, after their debriefing. Unless they figure out some war crimes to charge them with--or maybe crimes against humanity for past sins, if they can find enough evidence, but surely that wouldn't apply to all of them--on what grounds would they continue holding them?

"--on what grounds would they continue holding them?" - Tom

Thats a good question. I would think that they really don't want to. They probably just want to squeeze as much info out of them as possible and then let them go. Although they all worked for Hussein, many of them probably aren't guilty of much more than foolishness.

If the information minister can integrate the US talk-show circuit, surely that will cement the US as the greatest civilisation ever? The great melting pot, baby!

I understand Fox News has already offered him a long-term deal.

There was a statement by either Blair or Straw that there was no basis to prosecute Saddam internationally unless he used chem/bioweapons in this war, which he didn't. The only way they could be tried for anything would be in an Iraqi court, apparently.

My guess (based only on the fact that, apparently, he hasn't been heard of since) is that Saddam H. was blown to bits in that restaurant attack. But imagine if he were to turn up, be debriefed by US/UK intelligence, and then simply turned loose! I doubt he'd last long in Iraq.
