30,000 pound bomb being developed by the Air Force
Just when you might have thought that movement toward less weaponry in the world would be being considered, new and more powerful, deep-penetrating bombs are being developed.
This new bomb was being discussed on CNN this morning and during the discussion of yet another means of destroying, Barbara Starr shared a few chuckles about the inefficiency of the existing weapons already available
.
It seems to me that having gaggles of horrible bombs, poisons and guns have got us all into the fix the world finds itself in now, that more weapons is the last thing we need.
But, no. This new bomb will be able to penetrate deep into the earth, much more efficiently than the fabled "bunker-busters" already in existance.
I keep wondering what ever happened to the neutron bomb, which effectively killed every breathing thing, people and animals, but didn't damage the terrain?? People are renewable resources, after all and they are not what the invaders want to acquire. It's usually the natural resources. What kind of mind comes up with the idea of even contemplating the destruction of entire populations??? One comes to mind, but we certainly don't want to be slotted into the mind of somebody for whom "genocide" was coined.
One wonders if "civilization" is becoming just another word in the dictionary, along with the phrase, "peaceful co-existance". I fear that the world we are creating is not quite what we envisioned for our children and grandchildren.
Why do we have so many brilliant, creative people working on ways to destroy and so few working on peaceful means of resolving differences??
