"Essential" Modal Tunes

What are some good Modal tunes besides "So What" and "Impressions." I'm looking to play a modal tune using a different scale then the Dorian, I know you can use different minor scales on "So What" and "Impressions", but I'm trying to see where else I can go with this whole Modal thing

Thanks for any help

Interesting question. In the abstract I can't necessarily remember which jazz classics are modal as opposed to song-form changes, but I'm assuming "Mode for Joe" and "Miles' Mode" are two good bets.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, but would Hancock's "Circles" be a candidate?

Sounds modal to my ears.

EDIT: I messed up the composer. Miles Davis is credited with Circles. Hancock's gorgeous playing on it caused me to assume he composed it too.
