I'm Looking For An Out-of-Print CD - Can YOU Help Me?

I would guess that there are many of us who seek that ever elusive OOP CD.

Recently recommended to me, I've never heard the movie soundtrack for Passage To India and found that it is out-of-print (or unavailable). Is there anyone out there who owns this CD who would be willing to trade burned discs?

*******************************************************

What CD(s) have YOU been looking for?

Here's a possibility, Dobie. The only other copy I saw for sale was listed at $89.98 + S&H.

I believe he is asking for the soundtrack, not the movie itself.

Hmmmm....this is kind of like all those years I searched for Eric Dolphy's Naima.

Sumo, keep your eyes on half.com as well. You never know when it might pop up there.

Jazzzoline, those don't appear to be Original Motion Picture Soundtrack recordings, which is what SinginSumo wants, I'm certain.

Here's what the album cover looks like.

Apparently, this recording was released on 8 different labels in at least four countries, the U.S., Netherlands, Great Britain and Australia.

Are you talking about the "music note". They mean they don't have the picture of the cover. That's all.

Ron is correct. It appears that the Navras label, which specializes in Indian music, did several compilations using "Passage to India" as the overall series title:

"Passage to India: Instrumental India $14.99

Description : NAVRAS CD: This album contains performances on the sitar, sarod, sarangi, santoor, shehnai and bansuri. Featuring the greatest maestros of these instruments. Contains - Bhairav by Amjad Ali Khan, Marwa by Vilayat Khan, Shree by Amjad Ali Khan, Yaman Kalyan by Sultan Khan & Rais Khan, Bhopali by Shivkumar Sharma & Hariprasad Chaurasia, Kaushi Kanada by Sultan Khan, Bageshri by Hariprasad Chaurasia, Mian ki Malhar by Shivkumar Sharma, Surdasi Malhar by Nikhil Banerjee, Piloo by Vilayat Khan, Kirwani by Shivkumar Sharma & Hariprasad Chaurasia, Mishra Bhairavi by Vilayat Khan & Bismillah Khan."

I seek the SOUNDTRACK from the film on CD with Maurice Jarre & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on the Capitol label - but thanks everyone. I think that now I'd settle just for hearing online song samples.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been anyone else looking for THEIR elusive OOP CD on this thread.
