Myriam Alter's Jewish Soul Music

I just returned from a wonderful week's vacation in Paris. The only music I heard was at small performance space, Place de la Dance, not far from Place de la Bastille. The Sephardic-Jewish tango music of Myriam Alter played by Dino Saluzzi, bandoneon; John Ruocco, clarinet; Kenny Werner, piaon; Greg Cohen, bass and Joey Baron, drums. Beautiful Jewish soul music.
The group was on a short eleven city European tour promoting their new CD on Justin Time/Enja called "IF". It was great to hear this music in Paris and nice to bump into Kenny. I had no idea they were playing until we got to Paris and found a small ad in a free weekly newpaper.

Steve!!! I have been wondering where you've been!!! I was just about to call the station as I've been missing you for two Sunday evenings now on WGBH!! I am SO happy to hear that you've been enjoying R&R out of the country. That was certainly some well-deserved time off. Have missed you lots.
