Parker/Lytton/Guy at Tonic

Yo all. My first post on the new board. I like the new features but hope that we can import the old stuff.

I'll be in NY, April 17-21 to see my brother. Will probably come out every other month or so unless something nuclear happens.

According to Tonic's site...
Sun, Apr 20 8pm & 10pm Evan Parker, Paul Lytton & Barry Guy

Unless something better comes up that weekend, I'll probably be at this show.

Bob, if you're looking for jazz that weekend, Don Byron is at the Vanguard and Peter Bernstein has a quartet with Mehldau, Grenadier & Stewart at Jazz Standard.

Unless I'm employed I won't be at the Parker show. It's not a *must* for me.

Paul Lytton is hurt to hear you saying that, Pete. He tried *so* hard to impress you last time 'round.

Thanks Pete, I may check out those as well. I'll be playing it by ear probably each nite but will likely have tentative plans for Tonic on Sunday @8P. My brother is interested so it will likely happen. Hope you can make it, would be good to see you again - with a job.

You too Brian. Yeah, a Sunday gig is a bit of a drag. Glad I decided to leave late Monday afternoon.

Pete,

Lytton says he's not bringing the contraption unless you come.

In that case, Blue Sergio, I owe it to everybody to stay away.

We're trying to encourage Sunday afternoon/early evening shows here - start at around 5pm, finish at 8pm - allows 2-3 hours of drinking or plenty of time to get home after the show - have been to a couple like that, and put McPhee on at that time - had the best turnout so far.

Bob -- Tastes are tastes, for sure, but I would not miss the Parker/Lytton/Guy trio, if I were you. I'm bummed that I'm going to miss their entire tour.

Yeah but that other thread had it wrong too. It seems to be PLvS now.

btw, a ncie feature of the new threadware allows the originator change the threadtitle. I think it's in admistrative options.
