Lindsay Cooper, Oh Moscow

This got a rave in the Penguin Guide several editions back (it disappeared later on, I'm not sure why because Victo still has it in print AFAIK). I bought it but never really liked it much--can't even remember why now, except that I recall the sound quality was lousy (like on most early Victos), & that there's a horrible edit in the middle of Phil Minton's feature. I remember it was sorta like some of the Westbrooks' song-cycles (no surprise given that Cooper worked with the Westbrooks as did Minton). Anyway, just read an essay discussing Cooper a bit & was wondering if I'd made a mistake in getting rid of the disc when I moved to Toronto. Anyone know this one?

I haven't heard this, but I'm also interested in opinions. I've thought about picking it up a few times.

I apologize for this being off topic, but isn't Lindsay really sick?

I apologize for this being off topic too but I saw Lindsay with Henry Cow in the late 70´s and I fell in love with her. She really looked gorgeous and her playing was of course also very beautiful. I thought she was the coolest woman in the world.
I hope she don´t read this because I know she´s a radical feminist and don´t want to be judged by her looks.
I remember that she refused to sign the guestbook after the concert because a guy from the group Mount Everest had done some "sexist" drawings of naked woman in the book.

Walt, unfortunely she is suffering from multiple sclerosis.

That's sad.

I have her on a Richard and Linda Thompsons cut from the "Bright Lights" era. She really covered a lot of bases.

I am not a fan of the album, but there are some nice moments. But then again, I only heard it once. Prehaps my judgment will change after another listen?

Well I gave it many listens & never really liked it so I don't know...! But it was my only document of her work as a leader so maybe I should have hung onto it. I'm really sorry to hear she's ill. I think the best example of her work I now have is the sopranino work on Westbrook/Rossini: Live in Zurich.
