From Google Image Search: "Your search - Pannonica von Koenigswarter - did not match any documents." And pannonica is also the name of a flower. But I didn't look around in "plain old" Google.

No problem. If JM chooses that one, Ron, I, or someone else can slice off the title logo at the top.

Great choice (AFAIK without having met JM in person), Brian!

Franki--

Here are instructions for picking out an image. (I just gave them to Jazzy Mary in the other "avatar" thread.) So pick out an image. If you have trouble following these instructions, you can PM me (or no doubt Ron). Then I (or no doubt Ron) will help you do the rest and explain how to do it.

Search for an image on Google's Image Search:

http://images.google.com/

When you get there, click on Advanced Search (to the right) and choose images that are Small. If they all look smaller than other people's avatars, choose images that are Medium. (If you choose an image that isn't small enough, I can shrink it for you, but the results may not be good.)

Once you've chosen an image, click on Google's thumbnail of the image. You'll be taken to the Internet page on which the image appears. You have a PC, not a Mac, right? When you get to the Internet page on which the image appears, right-click on the image. Then click on Properties. Then copy the URL (address) of the image and send it to me in a PM.

Okay?

This is one Jazzy Mary expressed an interest in earlier today. If you'd still like to give this one a try, send me your e-mail address via PM and I'll shoot you the correct size, jm. It would be only a tiny bit smaller than seen here.

Here's another image you might like, jm. It would have to be reduced to about the size of the one above, but that will only take about :10secs.

Or this one from the same film.

Ron--

This has doubtless occurred to you, but if you crop the two sides a little, the central part of the image won't have to be any smaller.

Now should I tell you something that you don't know?

Edit: I couldn't resist doing it. This one is of "legal" size. (Ron, when you turned me on to IrfanView, you created a monster!)

You're very welcome. If you have trouble with that part, don't be shy--PM me (or Ron, I presume) and tell me (or him) where you got stuck. Otherwise, pick out an image and PM one of us the URL (address) of the image!

One of us can then resize the image for you if necessary, send you the resized version, and tell you how to put it up as an avatar.

Ahem! You could use a new avatar yourself. Have you ever noticed Deke's avatar?

Your avatar:

Deke's avatar:

He got there first. But then maybe you think that one can't have too many penguins on the board.

Wow, Valerie's burning the midnight oil with me tonight. Yoo-hoo!

I'm assuming that you're referring to the inimitable Baronessa Nica von Koenigswarter, shown here with Monk. Right, Valerie?

Or you could lose the penguin altogether and just go with the daemon!

thanks rita again for the help. got to the sight and i pick out on the four or fifth page a small tatt. that is the name of the photo. i thought it was a picture of a mask in thailand of a devil and it turns out to be a tattoo.

i still want it but can't size it to jc. i save it on my computer and transfered it over but it was too large. from there i stuck it in word. cut and paste and the desktop.

i know this stuff isn't that difficult but can you help me.

Franki--

Do you know how to send a PM? Please answer.

Do you know how to read a PM that you receive? Please answer.

I want to get my e-mail address to you, and I don't want to post it here. I want to PM it to you.

I'll be glad to resize the pic for you, but you need to either

1. E-mail the pic to me as an attachment, or

2. Follow the instructions that I already gave you in #8 and send me just the URL (address) of the pic on the website from which you copied it. If you don't know how to send a PM, you can post the URL in this thread.

Rita,

i have sent three PMs to Ron thorne, patricia and mone and it doesn't show that i have a return copy of them receiving anything and nobody has responded.

i can't figure out what is wrong with my sending a pm out to anyone. i would rather have straight email but understand the privacy of a pm.

my machine is not working in that department at all. can u come up with more ideas.

i can send you private messages all day, but they probably end up in dead letters like at the post office.

i have an account on hotmail and just today all of my email is so screwed up its ridiculous. i had the newest date as of last nightand when i got on this morning. this afternoon all of the dates were jumbled together with nothing in order.

is there a full moon out or what? maybe this is the twilight zone, that i not aware of. or i am in the wrong part of country or village.

Okay, forget the PMs.

1. Please make this clearer to me: Can you currently send and receive e-mail or not?

2. Please try this:

Right-click on the picture on your Desktop--the picture that you want to use.
Click on Properties.
Copy the URL (address) that you see and post it in this thread.

Rita,

just sent you a PM at 8:25 central time. i hope you get it. i am at a loss as to why my computer doesn't work.

i have scanned it for viruses. i have taken the harddrive in to have it overhauled for anything wrong. my dr. shans tells me that nothing is wrong.

so here i sit, with questions of this dell product that i am typing on, and its very frustrating.

Father Thorne, please reply to my PM please.

thanks

Your PM to me didn't go through. Maybe your PM to Ron didn't go through either.

I wish I could help you with your computer problems, but I can't. What I can do is resize your avatar picture, but no offense, you have to work with me a little bit and answer my questions.

Can you currently send and receive e-mail or not?

Will you try doing what I asked you to with the pic on your Desktop? I asked you in my previous message.
