Tim Berne - Acoustic and Electric Hard Cell Live

Not a review actually. I didn't know where to post this...

For those interested, support the man's new release, the first in a series of live recordings.

Hard Cell was such a great band on the ThirstyEar record, can't wait to hear them play live and acoustic!

I ordered it today. Comments soon.

CD arrived this morning.

Great stuff.
The 4 tracks are from the Science Friction repertoire and what a pleasure it is to hear the tunes in a trio format.
Some of you might have noticed how a fan of Marc Ducret I am but surprisingly, it's good to hear these pieces without him!!!
That leaves plenty of room for Craig Taborn to express himself on top and gives a new light on the various parts. And Tim Berne gets to take a little more space to develop choruses too.

Other Steve commented on this one in the WAYLT thread and I agree with him that the two acoustic numbers are even more enjoyeable (Craig Taborn on piano is a great addition to this music) than the two others, which remain top stuff anyway.

I think this one will spin for a while on the CD player this week.

In a word, if you dig Tim Berne's music, run and order this CD. What's more, it'll give him the opportunity to finance other releases like this one and make me happy, fwiw.
