OMIGOSH!!!!! I'm a FINALIST!

Last month I entered the American Lamb Board's Chef Recipe Contest. I
knew I had a good recipe, but then, so did all the Chefs who entered.
What else would one enter??? For the record, I deconstructed a rack of lamb, preparing first the riblets (marinated, deviled and grilled) and then the filet in medallions with a red wine sauce.

Anyway, last Saturday afternoon about 1pm, I was running late for my weekly trip into the Greenmarket, and talking long distance to a friend on the phone when the doorbell rang and Louie, the Super, handed me a FedEx letter. I'm really excited!

The PR alone would be a good thing, but what if I could win $10,000???
I could have the kitchen I really want! OBOY!!!

Don't know when I'll find out the results, but I'll let you know.

HP that is totally awesome. When are the finals? I assume that lamb is kind of old and you'll have cook again (smile)

Very good luck and if you win, I hope you'll samples to everyone on JC as part of the JC Gift exchange.

What great news, hornplayer. Congratulations, and best of luck!

Is Pacific Salmon on your agenda anytime soon? Maybe you could tie-in a trip to Alaska as a guest chef to coincide with our Alaska Symphony of Seafood® which is usually held in March? I can probably put you in contact with a few participating restaurants.

Horn - Congratulations, and good luck!

I used to work with an award-winning German chef, and watched him work. I know what goes into the prep., etc...and how stiff the competition is in these things. Nice job!

Aw, c'mon Larry. June and I aren't in the same league. Her experience includes cooking for a living. I'm a dilettante at best when it comes to cooking. I make a mean boxed macaroni and cheese, though.

Congratulations, June. I'm rooting for ya.................

Hey, me too--except that I tend to use a little too much garlic powder.
