Wonderful photo, Pete.

Wild boar sausage with sauteed onions & peppers on baguette
Spring mix salad with cheese (sans dressing)
Mango iced tea

(will be sure to bring my digi cam to the next meal worth documenting)

P.S. Where is kcbob??? - He'd be perfect to add his menu choices & photos to this thread!

I just signed on this morning. The other day I had the most amazing pork larb, nim sob salad, tom kah goong (coconut shrimp soup). Wished I would've taken a picture cause it looked as good as it tasted. If in KC, the place is called Thai Paradise (downtown) and indeed it was.

But even better... The other day, we made (and often do) a Vietnemese/Cambodian variation of 'flavor bundles' which are sort of lettuce wraps with a mound of 1/3 cut pork spring rolls and then several seaparated bowls out of chopped up ginger, lemon grass, green onion, cilantro, lime juice/garlic/tamarind ground pork, thai basil and a spiced up rice wine vinegar/fish sauce. Sprinkle it all on and prepare for an explosion of 20+ flavors. We were all spurtin on the cieling. A helluva lot of work to prepare but worth it.

Tonite, we are making carnitas with fall-apart-when-you-pick-it-up pork, guac with extra hot rotel and fresh salsa that has chopped cactus and loads of lime. Margaritas and Tecate of course. Can't wait.

Here are the results from the last time we had carnitas and margaritas. Beer before wine, everything's fine. Or so we thought. These pictures are making me hungry.

It looks like you can post multiple images via link, but only one attachment from your hard drive.

I don't need no boots on my fingers to walk them through the mashed potatoes!

I had "pan dulce" this morning, traditional leftist-leaning Meskin bread; Aussie pasta leftover from Outback last night (that's not a pasta...this is fuckin' pasta); and some home-roasted almonds with macadamias for a snack.

Pete: I personally feel that it was a sadistic act on your part to post the picture of that incredible-looking luncheon!! But before you feel sorry for me, my late luncheon consisted of:

Foccacio(sp?) bread with an excellent olive oil that had fresh pureed garlic, parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes in it; a very tasty caesar salad with anchovies; and steamed mussels in white wine, cilantro and garlic. I'm still reeking, but am also feeling very content!

In addition to other obvious benefits of this new board, the joy of sharing photos and other images with our friends at JC is just wonderful. The food photos are really cool. Pandora's box has been opened.

I'm stifling myself, since as many of you know, I'm a photoholic. I want to choose carefully and not overdo it.

Oh, I had a wonderful french dip sandwich, which also included grilled onions and mushrooms, shrimp gumbo soup and iced tea for lunch. I shared a huge pecan-chocolate chip cookie with Patti for dessert. Yum.

Technical questions:

Moné, is it possible to post two graphic attachments from our hard drive in a given post? Also, can you add a graphic file after you've already posted, as a function of editing?

Um, Moné, I hope you realize that the model on that album cover is actually covered in shaving cream!

Oh yeah, she's also a 65 year-old grandmother now. :>}

Tonight my wife made a pot roast with mushroom & onion gravy. It's one of my mother's recipes that I think she got from the back of a package of Lipton's Onion Soup (the powdered stuff). Yum.

Of course, the 2000 York Creek Late Picked Zinfandel (which is really hitting its stride) helped a lot.

Later,
Kevin

In addition to the expected vittles last night, I had purple, Peruvian potatos for the first time. Cooler looking than rasting, I'll admit.

Dessert was home-made angel food cake drenched in a wicked chocolate sauce.

Tip, thanks for the PB mention!

Nothing yet today, but it's 1.30pm so I should sort something out.

Houmus and Guacamole with scottish oat crackers yesterday (whilst walking), also some daifuku and other stuff I can't remember from a handily placed Japanese confectionary shop on Piccadilly.

Last night, Curried fish head soup, steamed fish in hot sauce, aubergine in black bean sauce, oysters and other stuff with some mates in Chinatown. Is it weird to take great pleasure from eating fish eyes? Most succulent bit of the fish if you ask me.
