Mugshot alley?

Now that we are able to post images, I think it might be a good idea if we started a posters gallery.

How do you guys manage to get a large image--I keep getting a message that it is too large, so I end up with a postage stamp.

Chris, the limit is 400x400, which is fairly large.

I usually have to adjust my jpgs downward, too, Chris. I've been editing them with Photoshop and reducing them to about 35%. I do think Lois's size limit is a little too small, MHO.

Keep in mind on an 800x600 display, it's more than half a screen (but who still has an 800x600 display? Sheesh!)

I also use Photoshop (ver 7) and I guess I don't know where to apply the right setting. I tried 35% and I tried 400 (?). Help!

I am doing jpg, but I'll try reducing colors. Thanks

Chris, the file size may be too large. Are you try to post GIF or TIFF? Try saving as JPG and/or reduce number of colors.

[edit] Oops, we posted at the same time.

You just set the larger size (length or width) to 398 pixels or so. (Also make sure it's under 42kb, which shouldn't be a problem, but...) and make sure it ends in an accepted extension (such as .jpg)

No, Pete. but there was a time, many moons ago, when I reminded people of Peter Lorre.

The only one I could find with an unobstructed face. The one on the right is a crazy Irish guy at work, in the States for a year on contract with my company. This pic is from his last day party.

Here's one of me looking typically untrustworthy at the Welsh "book town" of Hay-on-Wye.

Yeah, that *does* look like a Conan pose! And Chris, is there some story behind the initial mugshot on this thread? Was it really you? Was that an immigration photo or something?

Cookie, that shot was taken for my ID button at Keflavik Air Base (Iceland), when I worked for Armed Forces Radio & TV. The year was 1954!

Here's a later one w. Ruth Warrick and Mabel Mercer.
