Free Jazz and Free Improvisation

One may follow the link and print out 71 pages of the book. I don't understand why it's priced so high, $175 for 280 pages. Todd Jenkins book

FWIW, I glanced at one page online and saw AMM mentioned. I will print the available pages tomorrow at work and read them over the weekend if they capture my interest.

Greenwood books are always very expensive. I paid about $70 for Mike Heffley's book on Braxton. They usually publish things with a vary small audience base, and I think they target (academic) libraries, which they think actually have money).

This looks interesting, but between all the other reference books out there, and the web I can't see a lot of people dishing out the cash for it unless it is pretty spectacular. At least they were nice enough to give the 50 page essay at the beginning away for free as a sample.

My book is coming out on Greenwood, and while it's not as expensive, it is definitely true that they target academic audiences rather than "mainstream" ones.
