John Coltrane's house

I heard from a friend who lives in the area that John Coltrane's house on Long Island was bought by the town. It's in Dix Hills, in the town of Huntington. It's on 3+ acres and the town paid $975,000 for it. The house had already been declared a landmark, and I think they're going to turn it into a museum of some kind. It's nice to see jazz getting some official respect. If the town hadn't taken some action, probably some developer would have torn it down and put up a parking lot.
If you're interested, you can take a look at www.dixhills.com

Thanks for the heads up and link, Larry. Very cool, worthwhile project.

Now, if everything we saw in those photos was still there ... you'd have a museum with minimal initial effort.
