Clarence Atkins - R.I.P.

It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of Clarence Atkins, long-time journalist, friend and supporter of the arts. He passed away this morning, October 18, after a bout with pancreatic cancer. His brother, a retired Episcopalian priest, is making arrangements and will let us know the details soon. A familiar face at concerts and events, especially jazz, Clarence will be truly missed.

I only met Clarence a handful of times, but he always struck me as a deeply knowledgable writer and a gentle, soulful individual. R.I.P., Mr. Atkins. Thanks for the notice, Lois.
