NY Times discontinues it Arts & Leisure Guide

The New York Times has discontinued the Arts and Leisure Guide the comprehensive weekly listing of cultural institutions and events that has been an integral part of the Sunday cultural section for decades.

I believe The New York Times should save the listings and restore the balanced, unbiased overview of New York's cultural landscape. In addition to providing jobs for music journalists and other writers, the loss of this section has eliminated my chances to increase my writing income and job resources.

Please join me in asking The New York Times to save the listings at:

Alright, alright.

I was trying to be nice. But if you insist,

One can only hope that the rest of the paper isn't far behind.

Lois -

As a pretty careful daily reader of The NY Times, I've been attempting to get a feel for whether they've merely changed the format or cut back on thier coverage in some way.

Now I know.

And I liked it better the old way.

I'm on the case. We'll have them in full-surrender, apology-by-ombudsman mode by next weekend. ;-)

Seriously, I'm with you on this Lois.

Okay, I am outraged.

I can't get in this burg the Village Voice, Time Out, or whetver else might have listings. Sure I could surf the web to see what's doing, but it's ideal to have listings in one place, on paper, with all the contact/phone number/address information I could need. And don't they even put the nearest subway stop next to some of the listings?

I've signed the petition, Lois.
