Signatures?

Some people have signatures, but the feature is disabled when I try to create one. What's the deal? Did someone get in trouble for it? I noticed Jazzzoline has one, and now I want one.

Jazzzy, you know me. Let's just say that what you've got, I want really badly.

Really happy that he got the salmon for lunch,
Larry

No one has a signature, Larry. They would appear at the bottom of the post.

If had some Guinea pigs for dinner I would understand, maybe?

*willing to share everything with Larry, being a bit jealous of you sharing bad taste with someone else ( read that in a thread)*

Jazzzoline,

Your profile shows "All or nothing at all" in the signature section. Rob C was the only other of the ones I checked that had a signature line.

Well, I wrote that but noticed it didnt show after my posts.
Thought it worked for HLJ though : "Peace and all that".

I was thinking of using your avatar, sort of as a tribute to you. But I'm not sure if it allowed images as part of the signature. At the hockey board I moderate, we have limits on signatures because the images are sometimes too big.

HL puts that in himself -- he's been doing that since the old board, which didn't have any of these bells and whistles.

There are some other signatures, too. I remember finding a really great one, a quote by Kant, I think, and posting it on the Explorations thread. Can't remember whose or what it was now, though. (And it's bugging me!!)

In another thread, walto asked to rent out the space under my name. Brilliant Idea! We could also rent out our avatars and signatures. Hey, if Coca Cola can sponsor a jazz club, why not this?

I think that at some point you could enter a signature in your profile and it would then continue to show up in your profile. But it wouldn't show up at the bottom of your posts.

As Chris D noted, a signature is something that appears at the bottom of the post, not on the left. Signatures are disabled on this board, but we used to get the quirk I just described.

The thing that shows up on the left of posts is called a user title, not a signature. If changed from Registered User, it's called a Custom User Title.

I'm not so sure about that. You used to be able to, which is why I have a signature in my profile.

But it seems you can no longer access it in your profile.

I cannot access mine either.

I'd guess that Lois's bandwidth is the big deal. But you could e-mail her and ask her to enable signatures.

Edit: I think you're right; I don't see a signature or any way to enter or access one in my profile anymore. I edited my post above accordingly.

I'm so confused!

Yes, I understand that. But considering everything else that we ARE allowed to do here, it seems like it would be a drop, no, HALF a drop, in the bucket.

I really don't care either way, it just doesn't seem to be that big a deal.

But let it be known that I stand behind Ma 100% on any decision she makes. Cuz if I dont, *POW!!!*, and Ma's got a wicked left..........
