Some New Features

I have enabled instant notification when you get a private message - so if you're on the board - you'll note it right away.

I've also increased the amount of characters in a private message.

Please give me feedback whether this helps or hinders

thanks Lois

Lois:
Thanks particularly for the expanded capacity in e-mails. Now I can write to you at length as to how I really feel about stuff!

Not sure if it represents a glitch, but I got a new PM notification today of something I'd read several days ago.

I think you'll find that only the first time - It did for me, but not this morning.

If you have a pop-up blocker the windows notification prompt will not be able to direct you to the PM. I also was notified of a message I read several weeks ago. Maybe it's defaulting to most recent message?

You can disable your popup blocker if you receive that prompt, or you can check the regular menu for your new PM, just as you did before. At least you'll have been notified that you have a new PM.

I too was notified of a message that I'd read several weeks ago, which wasn't my most recent message but rather the most recent message that I hadn't deleted. From now on, though, the most recent message will indeed be a new message, I assume.

Lois, both the notification and, especially, the longer max. message length should be very helpful. Thanks!

Pete, you're the only person on this board.

(I meant "you" collectively, just as you did.)

When I mean "I" collectively I use the royal "we."

When I'm in a jam, I use the royal jelly.

(I don't know either.)

I got a notification that everyone thinks I suck and not to be expecting ANY pm's in the near future.

That couldn't be right.

Could it?

Thanks for expanding the features, Lois. Especially needed was the ability to actually write more than a few words in a PM.

I agree with that. How in the hell am I supposed to only write a few words?
