What actors would you cast in jazz bio movies

Jamie Foxx is so perfect as Ray Charles, I started thinking about what actors could play what musicians....

I always thought Morgan Freeman could play Mingus...

I don't think anyone could play Dexter....

Except for the melanin factor I think Victor Buono would have made a great Mingus.

Blewisian favorite Wendell Pierce might do a credible Mingus, He already has the heft.

When the rumors of a Miles bio were going around, Don Cheadle's name kept popping up. I can't think of a better actor to play Miles.

As long as we're plundering the cast of The Wire, how about Isiah Whitlock as Art Farmer?

Sir Ralph Richardson would have made a great Evan Parker.

Roberto Benigni as Pino Minafra.

StoneM...Yes, you caught me! App. it's/he's a professional George C "Look a Like"...on the web...The real George C sometimes looks like a younger/mid period Chet Baker?

Can't find a good pic of Robert Wisdom (currently on The Wire as "Bunny" Colvin), but he could be a decent Sun Ra.

Wait, here ya go:

That "Eric Dolphy" guy looks like he's auditioning to play Dr. Strange. And the "George Clooney look-alike" looks more like a young Raymond Burr!

That's almost as scary perfect as Foxx/Charles.

I can't find a pic of the young Al Freeman, Jr (Dutchman, Hot L Baltimore), but he might've pulled off a fair Braxton.

Maybe it's just a mental association from seeing him singing 'My Funny Valentine' in 'The Talented Mr Ripley', but I think Matt Damon has a certain likeness to young Chet Baker. I'm not sure who could play old Chet Baker, though
