Eminem:Mosh

I could have sworn there was a thread about Eminem's new video "Mosh."

I saw snippets on Primetime Live last night and they used words like "controversial" to describe it. I wish they had shown the complete video, but I think Eminem's anger is well-placed and the video SOUNDS menacing---like a call to violent revolution---but ends in an act of citizenship. The people vote.

I guess it's controversial in a similar way to the Schilling controversy (or any of the controversy surrounding famous folk who offer their "unsolicited opinion).

I like the aura of the Eminem music. It sounds menacing and dark and scary. The animation is also interesting and harks back to the cold war. It is openly anti-Bush.

Eminem is an artist (and yes, he is an artist in a way that folks like Brittney, Ashlee, and the like are not).

Anyway, has anybody seen the whole video (or even want to admit to watching MTV???). I have the banal shit on in the background hoping they might show it. I have to look at the guide because I don't hear no music yet.

I haven't seen the video, Cookie, but my Erin, who is twenty, has drawn my attention to several of the artists that she listens to, Emenem among them, as well as Avril Levigne and Ani Di Franko who are much more stridant in their anti-war and particularly anti-Bush sentiments than we ever were during the Vietnam years.
Did my heart good, though they are indeed a little frightening. These people are pissed-off royally at the direction the world seems to be going, now that Mr Bush has stirred up the hornets' nest.

Em lives about five minutes away from us. By all accounts, and they come from people I respect, he's good people.
