The Ultimate Song Critique Session
Featuring Berklee Professor Pat Pattison
UCLA, Dodd Hall
Sunday, November 14, 2004
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Ever wonder if you're getting the most impact from your lyrics? Is your
audience falling asleep by the second verse? Do you want your lyrics to
be stronger, but just don't know how to do it? If so, we cordially
invite you to spend the day with one of the foremost lyrics professors in
the world. Gain insight into your song at a unique critique session
featuring Berklee professor Pat Pattison, author of several best-sellers on
lyric writing. Here's what John Mayer says about Pat Pattison:
"I took a class with a great teacher named Pat Pattison... I learned a
lot of stuff in that class in terms of how to approach things... You
know, it's almost like going to your tool shed -- this is what I can use.
It's like John Madden: "These are all the plays I can run." The more
plays you learn to run, the more you have when you sit down and you say,
"How do I take this idea and get it to somewhere else?" So I really
appreciated it, and I still read that book. I've got that book on the tank
of my toilet, Writing Better Lyrics. I think it's great."
