Friday, November 12th marks the next performance of JCAL's new Jazz mini-concert series entitled 'Liner Notes'. (Opening Night, Oct. 15th, featured Latin Jazz with the great Ray Vega, trumpet and Oct. 29 featured James Spaulding, alto sax.) November 12 will feature guest artists Cecil Bridgewater and Eddie Allen on trumpet. Eric Lemon, Jazz bassist serves as Musical Director. The series is a collaboration with the Black American Heritage Foundation's Clarence Irving. Mr. Irving and Hilly Saunders, a former Jamaica Jazz promoter will provide 'liner notes' for each performance program, revealing to the audience special tidbits about the many Jazz musicians and Jazz places that are a part of Queens' rich musical history.
