Jury debates over Scott Peterson’s fate…
So the trial for the “husband from hell” is just about over. With the closing arguments complete, now we all have to wait for the jury to deliberate.
How does everyone feel about this case? Do you think he’ll walk or get what he deserves? Also – I’ve been told that the judge is only going to give a 2-hour notice once the jury has reached its verdict. We do have a cable TV in the lounge area here at work, so I’ve been setting it to Court TV to try and keep up-to-date. I even noticed on their website that you can get the verdict sent to your cell phone, which is pretty crazy (though I’m the only one of my friends without one yet!)
Personally, there’s nothing I’d rather see than a death sentence for this disgusting human, though life in prison wouldn’t be a bad 2nd option either.

quilty on all counts!! then again as usual the police and the medical teams for
the wife f*&ked it up again. this man will either walk free or hopely fry.
since this is in california, the death penalty i believe is lethal injection. i don't think he deserves to go that fast. some hard time with bubba and the big boys should straighten this dude out.
and what about all the others guys who are wacking off their wives that are
pregnant, what the hell is going on.
i believe just the way scott has appeared with that smug look and smile, he should have every pregnant women line up and either grab him in the nuts or just slap him to death.
what a dispicable human being..........and he isn't even that. some say that his girlfriend amber fry was next.
well next should be to hog tie this bastard to a 18 wheeler and see how he likes the skid marks on his precious face.
God!!!!!! now u got me started.

I am going to be glad when this is over since I have to see this at work on a constant basis. Right now I have coworkers either waiting in the sat truck in Redwood City or on call when the verdict comes.

I'm predicting a hung jury, and I don't mean William! The jury will thrash it out until one of them winds up in the hospital from the stress. Then we'll do it all again, only this time they'll move the trial to Needles.

From a psychological analysis of this person...... he's as guilty as it gets. The jury is gonna be hung, and if so, it should be, pun intended. Seen many cases where the accused is ridiculously guilty of the crime, but the forsenics aren't there. At least one member of the jury is going to have reasonable doubts. American-style jurispudence extinguishes justice on many occasions.

Yesterday they booted off the juror perceived to be the most solidly for the defense for misconduct (independent research), and just now they tossed the prominent jury foreman, a doctor and a lawyer who had filled up dozens of notebooks with his impressions during the trial.

This sounds to me like the judge does not want a hung jury under any circumstances. I'm sure if he's convicted that there will be plenty of appeals filed due to these dismissals.
Does this pave the way for a guilty finding?

They've got a verdict. 1 pm PST. That was fast, following the last two jurors sent packing -- they had an off-day yesterday.
The foreman was bounced for an imperious attitude that caused a few jurors to complain to the judge.

I haven't followed it too closely. From what I understand the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. Stuff like witnesses who saw him fishing near where the body was found, recently purchased a truck in an assumed name, dyed his hair and grew facial hair, carried $10,000 on him and headed towards the Mexican border.

Ditto, dammit. Unfortunately, it's inevitable that some other young, white woman will be abducted/murdered and enough of the elements will fall into the lurid entertainment model that is so prized by what passes for news media here.

Is it true that the leading cause of death for pregnant women is murder by husbands or boyfriends? I heard this stated as a fact on the news last night.

I can't decide what's worse: Reality TV shows or the preoccupation with the lives of celebrities. This asshole wasn't a celebrity until the media made him one, but same concept.
We'll call it a tie.

Thanks, Cookie. Sounds like they're just beginning to document this. I'd never heard that before, and was shocked. Even if it's not #1 in all the studies so far, it's clearly a major factor, and it may well prove to be the leading cause.
Chilling, isn't it? It's always seemed to me that a father murdering his child was a kind of act against nature, like violating the law of gravity. This also seems like an *impossible* crime to commit. I wish it were.
