I'm happy to announce the completion of Myself Among Others: A Life in Jazz (Da Capo), George Wein's autobiographical memoir cowritten by Nate Chinen. This week marks the book's street date. The first review, in Library Journal, noted that "this important and fascinating memoir is well written and easily worth the price." And Susan Larson just wrote a long review in the New Orleans Times-Picayune. (See link below.)

On a related note, George is reading and signing at Barnes & Noble in Chelsea, NYC this Friday evening. Jazz scholar and broadcasting legend Phil Schaap will moderate the post-reading discussion and Q&A. Bring your questions! I'll be there too, sitting inconspicuously in the back row. Couldn't find the review from the above but my copy of the book is on its way to me, as I type, from Amazon.com. I'm looking forward to a very interesting read!
