Interplay Jazz Camp - A Holistic Jazz Experience That Will Change Your
Life
July 27 - August 3, 2003
Endicott College on Cape Ann in Beverly, MA

Interplay Jazz camp provides an opportunity for musicians of all ages
(average age is 40)to participate in a relaxed and supportive learning
environment with an experienced faculty who focus on key aspects of the
improvisational art of jazz.

Daily seminars for all students delve into improvisation, theory,
composition, arranging, ear training and repertoire. Master classes
focus on topics related to
specific instruments.Daily combo rehearsals and jam sessions with the
faculty provide many hours of jazz play, and nightly video presentations
of historical jazz figures inspire all in attendance.

The combination of daily yoga classes, supervised meditation, delicious
food and a
beautiful oceanside setting create the perfect atmosphere for each
student and faculty
member to experience the integration of mind, body and spirit. Faculty
and student
performances round out the week, giving everyone the opportunity to
express what they have learned through music.

Lois,

So nice of you to post this!

Interplay is a few years old and growing a wee bit more each year through word of mouth. It is a great place for being able to interact closely with the teachers participating.

I had the pleasure of hearing Matt Wilson this summer with Buster Williams and I'd go to the camp in a heartbeat (if I were a drummer) to take lessons from Matt!
