Eminem's Charitable Giving

We have on the politics board, for some reason, a thread on Howard Stern. So when I saw this item in the gossip pages on another figure that some call a genius and others call a vulgarian, I though why not?

November 19, 2004 -- WHO knew Eminem was such a philanthropist? The rapper has been doing good deeds for his hometown of Detroit since he struck it rich, and now he's donating to New York — or, at least, New York's inmates. Em's Marshall Mathers Foundation just gave $50,000 to the Fresh Start program on Rikers Island that provides prisoners with vocational training and job placement services that allow them to attain and maintain economic self-sufficiency upon their release.

I've said this before, but the persona that pisses everyone off is just an act. Everyone I know who knows him says he's a very nice and generous guy. He lives about 5 minutes from my house. You might be suprised to know it's a lot bigger than my house.

That's cool. Good for him.

Monte: I put the thread "about" Howard on the politics page because he was talking about the FCC and censorship. His appearance on Letterman had political content. I didn't post it there because I like Howard's hair.

Anyway....
