LEGENDS OF THE BLUES TO PLAY AT HISTORIC EVENT AT LINCOLN CENTER- January 28th
Legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy and Little Milton will headline "Blues Express - Legends of the Blues," an historic gathering at New York's Lincoln Center on January 28, which will bring together most of the living legends of the blues on one stage.
Joining Buddy Guy and Little Milton will be musicians from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago, including: "Honeyboy" Edwards; Robert Lockwood Jr.; The Muddy Waters Band featuring James Cotton (harmonica), George "Mojo" Buford (vocals/harmonica), Calvin "Fuzz" Jones (bass),
Willie "Big Eyes" Smith (drums), Pinetop Perkins (piano), and Bob Margolin (guitar); and The Howlin' Wolf Band featuring Henry Gray (piano/vocal), Jody Williams (guitar), Freddie Robinson (guitar/vocals), Eddie Shaw (sax), Sam Lay (drums), and Bob Stroger (bass).
"I'm looking forward in bringing the Chicago Blues to Lincoln Center," said Buddy Guy. "There are not many of us left and this is a once in a lifetime show. It's going to be a gas!"
"It's so rare that we can all get together for a show," said James Cotton. "It'll be like a family reunion! I am coming to boogie - for one night New York will be the home of the blues."
