Need a little help
Well, I'm typing this from the hospital, where my 15-month-old daughter is now staying. We first had to bring her in last week when she started having some small seizures. They let us out on Friday. We had to bring her back in on Monday, after she lost some motor control on her right side. It turns out she has a lesion on her brain, which has bled three times, and has to be removed. She has surgery scheduled for Friday, and will need to remain in the hospital for at least another week in order to recuperate. The lesion is from a hereditary condition which she got from me.
I've had health problems in the past, but it's 1,000 times worse when it's your kid, and not you. She's a strong kid, and I'm hopeful that she will get through this okay, but this came on very suddenly, a complete surprise, and both my wife and I are reeling.
You guys and gals are important to me, so I'm asking those of you who are so inclined to please keep her in your prayers. If you are not the praying sort, please play some hopeful music in her honor: despite her young age, she's actually a big jazz fan, and actually likes most of the music I listen to, more than anyone else in my life. In particular, Miles Davis is very soothing music for her.
Thanks, and I will post again when I get the opportunity to give updates on how she is doing.

Crawjo...Hey...what to say...just very best wishes from us to you ALL...really lost for words for once...we are not the "praying kind", so "Miles - "You're My Everything" now playing...seems appropriate...will work thro the book...

This is terrible news. My heart goes out to you and your daughter.
In a way, because you know you may have passed on a hereditary condition, you are probably lucky, because I'll bet you brought the child in for care immediately. Parents of small children don't always recognize symptoms, and don't always bring the child in soon enough.
I am going to put on "ESP" and try to get some extra-sensory perception going. Please let her get through this O.K. and have a speedy and painless recovery...

Hey David... I am of the praying type, so you and yours will most definitely be on my mind as you go through this time. One of those situations where I imagine it's going to take time and a lot of faith to get through.
I'm pretty sure you have my e-mail if you need to let your thoughts out.

David:
I am the father of 2 sons, have suffered with them through a few unplanned hospital visits. I hold your daughter in my morning meditation, the medicine buddha mantra. Please send her name along if you're comfortable with that. Provide updates as you see fit, & look after your own self-very important!
Best

Every drop of positive energy in me is now directed to your daughter.
I am searching for Albert Ayler's "Music is the Healing Force of the Universe" immediately.
Then it is Miles all the time.

I feel for you, Crawjo. When my son was 1 year old, we had a major scare too. I know how it feels. I wish you, your daughter, and your family all the best.

Crawjo, I'm saddened to hear of your daughter's illness. It must be terrible having to watch your precious little one go through that, but littles ones are tough aren't they and heal more quickly and easily than old timers. So here's to her speedy recovery. Take care, crawjo. We are thinking about you.
