I want more Exploding Customer.
Jan, if a wolf is chasing your sleigh, throw him a sugar cookie. Don't stop to bake him a cake.

Michael,
The cake is just put in the oven but will be baked slowly in high temperature.
There is not only one wolf - it's a pack!

LOL.
I'll take any little morsel Exploding Customer cares to drop in the road.

I don't have to understand what Schaumann is talking about to like what he says. It's kind of hard to explain.

Unfortunately, we should need many more ”Michaels” = buyers of the CD ”Exploding Customer – Live at Glenn Miller Café” in order to economically justify a second release of this wonderful group. The sales of this CD is more or less a catastrophe.
We made a new recording in 2003 but we decided to not go ahead with that one.
But in November, 2004, the group toured Scandinavia and made a tremendous success with a kind of fresh and enormous strong music which go direct into the soul.
I’m now sitting here listening to two fantastic recordings from this tour and thinking that this music must be released whatever it will cost us.
Just hoping that there will be some more wolfs chasing the music this time.

Any chance of EC touring the U.S.?
I put Live at Glenn Miller on my top ten of the first half of the decade. I love it. So would 90% of the people who participate on this board, I think. I for one promise to buy their next disc upon release!

If Alan Jones could, he would make the same appeal M. Schaumann has.
I will, however, go on record as saying that LIVE AT THE GLENN MILLER CAFE is a damn fine rekkid.

Critical musings about Exploding Customer can be found here.
sample quote:
"Obviously more inspired by late '60s "New Thing" jazz (that blistering blend of free improvisation and post-bop solidity) than the wild-ass anarchy of their European brethren, Exploding Customer relies on a rock-hard rhythm section to keep Küchen's squonks on terra firma."
I think I might like these guys.

You guys are for sure encouraging us to make a second EC release!
I may even have to convinced Slim at NorthCountry to order some more of the first one (?).
Thanks a lot!

I'm certainly intrigued. I'll look into it.
(EDIT, having just looked into it.]
Wow, I really liked both the new tunes at http://www.explodingcustomer.com/mp3.htm! Definitely get the new record out!

Jan, I was knocked out by the live disc, and still enjoy it muchly. This wolf will happily chase down any "exploding" morsel you might throw in my direction, hopefully in the not too distant future. And I'll certainly notify all my friends about any impending release.
Jan, also happy to report my total enjoyment of the Henry Grimes Trio cd. Henry, along with David Murray & Hamid Drake, challenge the mind & spirit with some marvelous music throughout the session. Very satisfying stuff!

All three of my thumbs are heartily hoisted on this one too. Jason, does STN publish it’s stuff online someplace? I’d love to check it if they do.

No, it was definitely more than a rant. The Exploding Customer disc has gotten several rave reviews over there. Hopefully one or two of them led to some additional sales.
I'll add my voice to the chorus praising this disc. I just finished listening to Live at Glenn Miller Cafe again and it is a fantastic album! A lot of people would love it if they gave it a chance.

I have still a good deal of time to spend with their recording (which I received yesterday), but I can already tell I want more Exploding Customer too.

Customer Explodes & Hi to Jan Ström.
I saw EC in Tampere Jazz Happening 2004, one of the few interesting performances there....the bassplayer has the best facial expressions ever! and the saxman's wobbly legs, wuuhaa! and the music was good, too!
and hello to Jan Ström, you might remember me, i used to order stuff from ayler to Digelius & Eronen...belated thank you for the 'Ayler Record Artist'-Tshirt you send me (actually, it's falling apart from heavy use...can I get a new one? ha ha)
PEOPLE! Support the small labels! They (We) need the €€€€€€!
