14th Annual East Coast Jazz Festival in Rockville, MD

FMJS’ 14th ANNUAL EAST COAST JAZZ FESTIVAL
FEBRUARY 16-21, 2005
A 6-DAY MARATHON OF MUSIC
BOTH FREE AND TICKETED EVENTS
Spend Presidents' Weekend listening to jazz greats and emerging stars (the hope of the future). This year 2005 FMJS Scholarship Competition and Awards will be one of the highlights. Free and open to everyone - jazz workshops, seminars, nightly jam sessions, school bands, and Sunday Gospel Matinee Services. This event is sponsored in-part by DoubleTree Hotel Rockville, JazzTimes Magazine, GEICO, the Montgomery County Conference and Visitors Bureau, and made possible in-part by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC).

Proceeds benefit:

THE FISH MIDDLETON JAZZ SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INC. (FMJS) is a Dedicated Leader in the Perpetuation of Jazz – An American National Treasure. FMJS is a non-profit organization, created in memory of Elmore “Fish” Middleton, a jazz programmer committed to promoting jazz and supporting emerging jazz artists.
FMJS’ programs continue to assist in the educational
and artistic development of jazz artists, promote jazz
education and performance in public schools, and
offer a wider base for the presentation of “straight ahead”
Jazz in the Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area

Most of the events will be happening at the DoubleTree Suites in Rockville, MD, however the festival has some other events in different venues. Please check their website for a full schedule.
