Bill Moody's "Evan Horne" series

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone else has checked out Bill Moody's "Evan Horne" series of jazz-pianist-turned-detective novels? I was given "Bird Lives!" as a present and loved it and went and read all the rest of the books in the series by the end of the weekend.

What's not to love? An inside look at the art and business of jazz combined with fast paced murder mysteries.

I only give the writing a B+, but the atmosphere and ability to portray the sensibilities of a jazz musician are top-notch.

It's my recommendation for beach reading this summer - feel free to disagree if you had a different reaction! (Or suggest an alternative if you like something better)
