You Can't Steal A Gift: Dizzy,Clark,Milt & Nat - Gene Lees

Gene Lee's, a musician himself, writes of his encounters with Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Hinton and Nat King Cole. Deals with the impact of racism on each of the artists, to show what truly "Great" people as well as Great artists they are.

Am a big Clark Terry fan and have seen him many times in NYC Clubs. You can't help but admire his incredible talent and warm personality. Always a treat to see. The book really makes you appreciate these artists, how they rise above all the negativeness, and continue to perform and embrace all, because of their Love of music. A must read.
